“Boutique photography” means time and great care will be spent on every last detail to ensure you look your best.
-
- Book at least 2 months ahead. Your newborn's optimum photo session will be when he/she is 4-10 days old.
- Please contact Katie as soon as possible when your baby arrives to ensure the best photos.
- While the dates can not be perfectly planned ahead of time, Katie will try her best to work around your schedule.
- Bring enough diapers and wipes for the session. “Accidents” are inevitable. Also bring a pacifier and anything else that may soothe the baby.
- Simple well fitting clothing is best; avoid bulky and excessively loose items.
- Memorable/heirloom items such as blankets, teddy bears, special hat, etc., are an excellent accessory.

- Book at least 2 months ahead.
- Wear what makes you comfortable and represents your personality.
- Avoid busy patterns or logos, but traditional patterns are excellent, particularly polka-dot or damask.
- Bring about 3-5 changes of clothes, including at least one dressy, one dressy-casual, and one to two casual outfits.
- Bring fun accesories, including hats, scarves, fun shoes, jewelry, umbrella, balloons, musical instruments, etc.
- Cottons are preferable to polyester; the shiny and clingy appearance of polyester is often unflattering.
- A hair and makeup artist is available at a small additional charge, but highly recommended. If you choose not to go with my artist, I'd recommend to get makeup done at a salon or department store for an all day, pop-out look. Also, if you plan on cutting your hair, do so about 2-3 weeks ahead of time
- If you would like a hair/makeup artist present for your session, please request this at least a month ahead of time.

- For tops, bring a cute, empire waisted top, as well as a tank top, camisole, or baby-doll top in black, white, button-down or a soft solid color or simple pattern. Also bring a shirt, sweater, or cardigan. It's okay if the top is a little tight, as it will be unbuttoned. Too baggy of a shirt can create a “bloated” appearance.
- Bring jeans, and avoid too-tight bottoms as it can create unflattering tightening at the bottom of the belly.
- Significant baby accesories are also recommended, i.e. baby dress, booties, teddy bear, hat, etc.
